KidsFest 2014: World Record Attempt
To pay tribute to our beloved friend Eden, this event will be held in her memory and all proceeds will be donated to the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in her name.
We have contacted Guinness World Records and proposed a challenge to break the world record for the ‘largest sculpting lesson’ ever conducted!
WHEN AND WHERE?:
Kidsfest @ Centreville Island Toronto: Saturday July 5th, 2014. Donate here + register your kids for this world record event!
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
We are trying our best to get most of the clay & supplies donated to maximize our charity donation but there are costs that cannot be avoided when putting on an event like this:
After the world record event, we will pool all of the online GreedyGiver donations with our on-site fundraising and donate all of our proceeds (after costs) to the SickKids Foundation on behalf of our group, Eden's Angels and our dearly missed friend, Eden Worth.

BREAKING THE WORLD RECORD:
Now that you know what is motivating us, let’s get to the big idea. We have contacted Guinness World Records and proposed a challenge to break the world record for the ‘largest sculpting lesson’ ever conducted and bring the honour home to Toronto, Canada!
The current Guinness World Record in this category is held by 315 school children from Switzerland!
For our event and record-breaking attempt, we plan on each of our participants sculpting a Wanda’s Creative Clay character by molding oven-bake Sculpey clay as found in her classes and home kits.
Centreville and Far Enough Farm’s KidsFest: July 4 – 6, 2014
With support from KidsFest we plan on smashing the record with over 500+ participants!
This is the story of one amazing little girl: Eden Worth.
Vivacious. Loving. Giving. Caring. Beautiful.
…sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour at age 5.
8 hours of surgery, 3 weeks of recovery in the hospital, loss of voice for 4 months, 30 days of radiation (instant hair loss), 16 months of chemotherapy and months of therapy gave us back our little girl.
Changed, yes, but our little girl nonetheless.
Years of follow-up and many hospital visits consistently gave the same wonderful news:
“Eden is fine, nothing to worry about; she will live a happy and healthy long life.”
Fast forward 7 years and Eden starts to show similar signs of the symptoms. Doctors say it is food related, school related, this and that until finally… a MRI confirmed our thoughts.
“That one in a million chance… What everyone said could never happen again… is back.”
This time it has progressed and spread. Sadly, not a year since her re-diagnosis, Eden passed peacefully at home just prior to her 13th birthday.
From a very early age, Eden loved her arts and crafts, especially her sculpting classes at the local community centre. There she met Wanda and a very special friendship developed.
After the chemo and radiation, the classes gave her the ability to practice her fine motor skills. When Eden had the energy, she continued attending her classes and when times weren’t so good;
Wanda came to spend private time with Eden at home or the hospital.
A special bond developed like no other, a true friendship.
To pay tribute to Eden, this event will be held in her memory and with her in our thoughts; all proceeds will be donated to the SickKids Foundation.
Community support is a critical source of funding for SickKids. The foundation inspires our communities to invest in health and scientific advances to improve the lives of children and their families in Canada and around the world. Healthier Children. A Better World.™
